Rhinestone Eyes
A personal motion project accompanying Rhinestone Eyes by the Gorillaz.
The inspiration for this personal project came from a verse in the song "Rhinestone Eyes" by the Gorillaz. The animation was created using After Effects, Cinema 4D, and Redshift, and aimed to visually represent the themes explored in the album "Plastic Beach."
The album explores the themes of hope and optimism in a world increasingly dominated by industrialization, anthropogenic environmental damage, and hyperconsumerism. Through this animation, I wanted to capture these themes in a visually compelling way. I experimented with different techniques such as environmental fog, particle and pyro simulations, and layering levels of displacement to tie the scenes together and create a cohesive look and feel.
The result is a captivating and thought-provoking animation that captures the themes of the album.
